Our College opened in 1982 with the dreams of our founding parents and staff becoming a reality. Over the last forty years, thousands of families have paved the way for our current students by creating a legacy of giving that has provided the calibre of the educational programs and facilities our 1800+ students enjoy now.
With the 2032 Olympics on the horizon, we need to prepare the next generation of elite athletes. John Paul College (JPC) is embarking on this project to ensure that our current cohort of students has the best sporting facilities to inspire their future ambitions.
This year’s JPC’s Making a Difference appeal focuses on increasing our Health and PE curriculum outdoor education spaces which will benefit all our students from K-12. The appeal also encompasses additional court space for our co-curricular programs, aiding growth in our academies and creating a sporting excellence hub in Logan.
The new covered multi-purpose court precinct will be a welcome addition to support our sport strategic goals, ensuring all-year training facilities and much-needed additional court space. To ensure JPC is the Home of Sporting Excellence, we need your support in Making a Difference.
With the support and generosity of the John Paul College community, the completion of the Jukambi Courts Precinct and Cec Munns Sports Centre Upgrade will proceed within the planned timeframe. We thank you for continuing the JPC giving legacy to support current and future students.
We celebrate Luke van Wijk, a very proud Alumni and former School Captain of the College (Class of 2014). Luke has generously kicked off our Making a Difference fundraising campaign to enable the Jukambi Covered Courts Precinct and Cec Munns Sports Centre Upgrade with a visionary donation of $10,000.
'I remember playing tennis with my brother, Mark van Wijk (Class of 2016) on the Mayflower Tennis Courts and I dream that my kids will create lifelong memories on world-class courts one day’.
Luke’s gift will be acknowledged on one of the benches at our new Jukambi Tennis Courts and he plans to watch his kids playing tennis from the ‘VAN WIJK FAMILY’ bench seat in the near future. He will also join our Giving Day Match Funders as we countdown to our Making a Difference Giving Day in 2024.
On behalf of the John Paul College community of today and tomorrow, we’d like to express our deepest gratitude to Luke. Thank you Luke for Making a Difference and enabling a vibrant, brighter future for our kids.
